Level 1 vs. Level 2 Charging: What's the Difference?

When you buy an EV, it usually comes with a "mobile connector" that plugs into a standard wall outlet. But is that enough?

Level 1: The "Trickle" Charge

This uses a standard 120V household outlet. It adds about 3-5 miles of range per hour.
Pros: No installation cost.
Cons: Takes 24+ hours to fill a battery.

Level 2: The Standard

This requires a 240V outlet (like a dryer plug). It adds about 25-40 miles of range per hour.
Pros: Full charge overnight (6-8 hours).
Cons: Installation can cost $500-$1,000.

Which do you need?

If you drive less than 30 miles a day, Level 1 is fine. If you commute further, Level 2 is a mandatory upgrade for your sanity.
